Eastern Leadership Centre is a not-for-profit, charitable company. We support all aspects of educational leadership and learning in the Eastern region, through partnerships with headteachers, staff, governors of schools, children's centres, local authorities and businesses.

Our Links With China Continue to Flourish
On Friday 28th March we were delighted to host a delegation from the Beijing Institute of Education. The delegation included Professor Yuan Changhuan, Professor Chen Li, Deputy Professor Cao Zhihua and secretary Lu Hui of the Beijing Institute; An Xiaodan and Chu Yuzhu, Education Officers with the British Council, Beijing, along with primary and secondary school leaders.
The delegation were pleased to hear about the current and new models of NPQH, and were particularly interested in our China UK school leadership programme. We were able to explain our experiential model and how this is different from the more formal model which is more familiar to our Chinese colleagues.We described the typical content of skills training balanced with school visits, and told them success stories, such as the Headteacher Mr. Zhong Yi Jun, who joined the school leadership training program in 2006, and who is now the Director of Zhuhai Education Bureau.
This was a really successful visit, which resulted in the Beijing Institute of Education giving us a formal invitation to visit Beijing. We hope that this will lead to a closer partnership and increased opportunities to share our expertise in China.
