ELC Conference - 7th December 2006
5th Jan 2007
Systems, Leaders and Shakespeare
The ELC has a large pool of expert tutors, assessors and facilitators, across a whole range of leadership areas.
Part of our CPD for this expert group is to hold an annual conference. This took place on Thursday 7 December 2006 at the Millennium Grandstand, Rowley Mile Racecourse, Newmarket. 110 people came including ELC facilitators, staff and Board members. Evaluations and other feedback show that the day was a real success, though the de-brief has already fed into planning for our 2007 event – and we never rest on our laurels!
The conference was opened with a welcome by Grant Bage, recently appointed ELC Chief Executive. The morning keynote address was given by Jane Creasy, Operational Director Planning & Knowledge Management, NCSL. Jane spoke on System Leadership and the session was key to helping connect our regional audience with national trends and developing ideas.

Jane then jointly led a facilitated discussion session and Plenary on the implications of System Leadership, which provided some stimulating and lively group debate. The afternoon session saw a welcome return by Ben Walden of Contender Charlie (the education services arm of Olivier Mythodrama) who led us in leadership lessons from Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
Ben once again captivated his audience with a truly inspirational session.

Roll on this year’s!
