Professional leadership training and events for the eastern region

Programme Structure

The programme is structured over 12 to 18 months and has three stages:

Stage 1
A two-day residential workshop, typically with four or five other teams. The first part of the workshop stimulates thinking on the five components of capacity building:

  • futures (medium to long-term thinking and planning)
  • foundations (strong management and rigorous self-evaluation)
  • the learning school (building intellectual intelligence)
  • relationships and teams (building social capital)
  • leadership (building organisational capacity and leadership capacity)
  • Stage 2
The 12 to 18 month implementation phase, using the network from the residential workshop and/or existing networks of schools for further collaborative learning. The programme includes one-and-a-half days of national consultancy during stage 2, tailored according to the key development issues.

    Stage 3
A one-day review event to celebrate progress and plan the next stage of development.

    Bespoke implementation

If an individual or group of schools is interested in DCSI, we will negotiate a strategy suitable for the institutions involved. At Eastern Leadership Centre, we are keen to help leadership teams to be successful, and so programmes can be bespoke to suit different needs as required. Local delivery can be very powerful and so we encourage consortia and federations to consider the benefits to them of joint commissioning. Twilight sessions can also be arranged if necessary to accommodate differing schedules of SLTs.
