Opportunities & Challenges working with the Private Sector

Audience: Working for yourself/Working for your school is a one day conference for headteachers and other senior managers considering broadening their commercial experience to benefit their schools and develop their careers.

This one day conference is built around a range of business skills and insights supplied by facilitators who are themselves former teachers and by independant consultants selected for their marketing and finance backgrounds which include the UK education and training sector.

Using workshops, groupwork and lectures you will:

  • Learn from case studies of those who have made the transition to the private sector
  • Use your skills to generate extra income for your school
  • Consider future career opportunities
  • Hear how to set up a business
  • Consider differences between public and private sector cultures
  • Participate in workshops dealing with specific commercial issues
