Professional leadership training and events for the eastern region

Middle Leaders

Middle leaders (subject leaders, middle managers, heads of department, curriculum coordinators) play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the nature and quality of the pupils’ learning experience. They have a pivotal role in any strategy that aims to distribute leadership effectively. There has been a general shift for middle leaders from managing resources to leading learning and teaching.

Our range of middle leaders programmes are aimed towards teachers who are beginning to take on leadership & management responsibilities, including heads of subject/area & subject co-ordinators along with those who are thinking about advancing on to Senior leadership but who are not yet close to headship.

The ELC supports a variety of opportunities for middle leaders, including our own programme developed for the varying needs of those in, or aspiring towards, senior leadership positions.
