Background
From 1 September 2009, new national regulations have come into being which require that newly appointed SENCOs undertake a nationally approved training programme.
Working in partnership Cambridge University, Cambridgeshire LA, Essex LA and the Eastern Leadership Centre have developed a TDA-approved programme of training. This training is compulsory for SENCOs who are new to the role since 1 September 2008 and is funded by the TDA. The course currently has two start dates: January 2010 and September 2010. It is anticipated that it will continue to be available in subsequent years, though funding for these has not been confirmed by the TDA.
