School Business Managers

The school bursar/business manager is responsible for ensuring that support services in a school are provided in the most effective and efficient way in the support of learning. Bursars work closely with the headteacher and governors to ensure that the school meets its educational aims.
The role of the School Business Manager is now widely recognised as key to helping schools make better use of their resources & facilities & to enable teaching staff to find greater satisfaction in their work.
There are seven key areas of responsibility for a School Businees Manager:

  • financial resource management
  • management of information systems and ICT
  • administration management
  • planning and managing change
  • human resource management
  • health and safety management
