About Us

Who are ELC
At the Eastern Leadership Centre we strive continuously to improve educational leadership and change management, by working in schools, early years and other educational settings. Our aim is for learners, teachers and other educators to receive the best possible learning opportunities and leadership. We provide leadership on a regional basis by acting as a hub for all the East region local authorities, schools and other educational settings and practitioners.

The Eastern Leadership Centre was created to support educational leadership in the East Region. Our unique position as a not-for-profit organisation enables us to work in partnership with local authorities, schools and children’s centres, alongside the DFES, the NCSL, the TDA and other educational practitioners.

The Centre's core activities
We are the regional provider for a number of NCSL-led training programmes, including:

  • Leading from the Middle (LFTM)
  • National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH)
  • Certificate in School Business Management (CSBM)
  • National Professional Qualification in Integrated Centre Leadership (NPQICL)

  • ELC is the regional Provider for assessment on the HLTA programme, developed by the Training and Development Agencyto, support higher level teaching assistants.

    We act as the regional centre for the TDA's development directorate.

    In addition, we offer a range of professional development training programmes, conferences and workshops to support the continued professional development needs of all leaders.
    These include:

  • TDA-D regional networks for extended schools, performance mangagement, targeted youth support and the wider workforce
  • Leaders Conferences across a range of disciplines
  • Online and face to face support for school governors
  • Leadership Programmes for Chinese School Leaders (in UK and China)
  • Overall, we wish to contribute with our partners in supporting the school leaders of today and growing the school leaders of tomorrow.
